HRPC has received funding to deliver the RESPECTU Sexual Risk Avoidance Education program to youth ages 10-19 in Limestone County, Madison City and County, Marshall County and Morgan County schools. RESPECTU delivers evidence-based, medically accurate, age-appropriate sexual risk avoidance education (SRAE) that normalizes avoiding nonmarital sexual activity as the optimal health behavior. The trauma-informed curriculum delivered by certified SRAE specialists, available in both English and Spanish, promotes positive youth development and healthy-relationship and refusal skills, and includes human trafficking prevention. RESPECTU equips the region's youth with the knowledge, skills and future orientation to avoid sexual risk and pursue healthy, self-sufficient and successful lives.
